Henrietta is a city located in Clay County, Texas, United States. It is situated approximately 100 miles northwest of Fort Worth and 12 miles east of the Red River. The city occupies an area of 4.2 square miles, according to the US Census Bureau.
Henrietta is located on US Highway 82 and is served by State Highways 148 and 148B. It is also close to Interstate 44 and US Highway 287. Henrietta is the county seat of Clay County and has a population of approximately 3,000 people.
The town of Henrietta was founded by rancher A.B. Slaughter in 1859 and named for his daughter, Henrietta. The city has a rich history related to cattle ranching and oil production.
